PARTICIPATING IN: 3 Shows, Closed Christmas Crawl

Nanoose Bay Artist Karen Bottcher

My husband and I fell in love with Vancouver Island in the 70's but were not able to move here until 2013. We moved up island 2 years ago, and we are still discovering and exploring our new community.

Fourteen years ago I was given a little glass kiln. After classes and lots of experiments I now have 3 kilns and am still looking for new directions for my glass creations. My background is creative arts, and you can see my journey with influences of embroidery, weaving, wire work, basketry, wood working and sculpture in my work,

My studio is behind the house, and I am still in the process of organising it. Since my thumb is not always green recently, I have enjoyed making garden art. It is hard for the deer to nibble on glass.

I look forward to meeting my new neighbors and greeting old friends from Cobble Hill.
